Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): All seem to be not well between the two groups of the recently split NSCN/GPRN-Reformation (NSCN-R) -- one led by R Wangtin and the other by Akato Chophi – as they have got into a war of words.
In a press release, the Chophi-led group on Tuesday denied the allegations of taking away arms and misappropriation of funds levelled against its president by the Wangtin-led group.
It stated that the group would not pick names and litter the dirt in public though it has proof but it would be constrained to do so if continuously hit below the belt.
“However the NSCN wants to put forth some questions to the Wangtin/ Tikhak camp (hereafter WTC) to some ludicrous and ridiculous allegation with a personal vendetta against the NSCN's President inno Akato Chophi,” read the press release, adding that it requires a 2/3 majority to move the House for impeaching a Collective leader.
It hit back at the claim that Chophi had taken away “46 Arms” before the split, while asking the Wangtin-led group to furnish the details of the weapons.
It also denied the allegation of misappropriating INR 7 crore, while claiming that Chophi had to refund INR 12.50 lakh (with interest) for INR 5 lakh loan taken by the undivided NSCN before he joined the group.
