Advisor Zhaleo Rio chairs Chümoukedima District Planning & Development Board meeting.

DIMAPUR — The Chümoukedima District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for the month of October was held on Friday at the DC’s Conference Hall, under the chairmanship of Advisor for Urban Development & Municipal Affairs and DPDB Chairman, Zhaleo Rio.
In his address, the advisor stated that Nagaland Nagaland suffered extensive damage from the intense and prolonged monsoon, affecting infrastructure, property, roads, agriculture, and livelihoods, a DIPR report stated.
However, Zhaleo lauded the district administration and stakeholders for their collaborative efforts in effectively managing the monsoon's impact.

The meeting commenced with a review of the previous DPDB meeting, followed by a discussion of the agenda items. After thorough deliberation, the board approved several proposals for recommendation, including recognition of the Nagaland State Pedal Association and Chümoukedima Two-wheelers Taxi Association, introduction of multi-disciplinary courses and commerce streams at GHSS Singrijan, construction of the Excise department office in Chümoukedima, and the renaming of Sirhi Angami village to Medzhiphema ‘A’ village.
District Agriculture Officer Moainla Pongen presented a PowerPoint highlighting various schemes and activities under Chümoukedima district, including Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana; Rain-fed Area Development; Sub- Mission on Agriculture Mechanisation; Per Drop More Crop; Krishonnati Yojana; and National Food Security & Nutrition Mission.
Longleng: The monthly Longleng DPDB meeting was held at the DPDB hall, Longleng, on October 9, chaired by MLA & Chairman DPDB A Pongshi Phom.
In his address, Pongshi emphasised the crucial role of government employees in the uplift of Longleng district and urged them to be sincere and diligent in their work. He also asked supervisors to ensure employees are present at their stations and accessible during working hours to better serve the public.
Deputy Commissioner of Longleng, W Manpai Phom, highlighted the agendas of the day. The board reviewed the agenda for grant-in-aid requested by Vision Vale School, Longleng, and agreed to forward the proposal to the relevant department. Additionally, the board endorsed the proposal for establishing a police outpost at Yongnyah EAC HQ.
The DC also informed the board about the upcoming visit of the Union Minister of State for Power & Renewable Energy and directed departmental officers to prepare updates on their activities.
Executive Engineer for Water Resources Department, Longleng Division, Sutemo Kikon presented the departmental activities through PowerPoint presentation. He outlined the department's initiatives under various villages of the district.
