Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): Kick-starting his tour itinerary, the NDPP president, Chingwang Konyak, along with members of the CEB arrived in Wokha on October 17 and held meeting with the party cadres including office bearers of the NDPP Wokha region.

An update from the party informed that the meeting, among other party and political matters, deliberated on issues and ways and means to streamline the working system and strengthen the party at the grassroots.

In his address, Chingwang dwelled on the Indo-Naga political issue and other hardships faced by the state and government.

Konyak said against all odds, after nine months of formation of the NDPP, the party went to election in alliance with the BJP and came to power because of the strong leadership of Neiphiu Rio, it stated. He asserted that without a strong leadership, no political party or government can function smoothly.

He also assured that the next government will be more effective with both the NDPP and BJP learning from experiences. He, therefore, called upon the party workers to work cohesively to give a thumping victory to the NDPP candidates from Wokha region.

“Votes for party candidates will not fall from the sky, it will be decided by the grass root voters and hence we must all work accordingly and win the favour and support of the respective constituency electorate,” Chingwang said.

The CEB members, holding respective assignments, stressed on the relevant strictures and matters relating to the party’s constitutional discipline and cautioned severe disciplinary action against any party worker indulging in anti-party activity.

The NDPP Wokha region, in its report, gave an account of the primary and active members’ enrolment and assured to work with invigorated spirit and take up all party tasks such as enrolment, members’ registration and appointment of booth level agents in all polling stations, it stated.

The region’s party office also submitted a memorandum which included sanction and grant of imminent needs of the party’s Wokha region.

Konyak was accompanied by senior central NDPP leaders and the party’s frontal office bearers.
