Dimapur, Sep. 8 (EMN): In sharing their love for reading with children who need it the most, a small group of children gathered at PenThrill Publication House in Kohima on Sunday afternoon for a storytelling session marking International Literacy Day, which is on September 8, updates stated. The publication house issued a press release on Sunday to the media informing about the event.
The event was stated to be an initiative of Pratham Books, a leading non-profit organization, to bring story books to children across India.

In their eighth year running of ‘One Day, One Story,’ this year’s Pratham Books Champions had two titles to choose: ‘Gappu Can’t Dance’ written by Menaka Raman and illustrated by Krishna Chandan, and ‘The Weightlifting Princess’ written by Sowmya Rajendran and illustrated by Debasmita Dasgupta.

Celebrating the joy of reading, PenThrill was part of their annual volunteer driven campaign during which ‘The Weightlifting Princess’ was read to the children. They also enacted scenes from the book, the updates stated.
