Dimapur, May 7 (EMN): Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) conducted an essay writing competition for the Sunday School Children on May 7 at United Baptist Church, Bamunphukhuri, Dimapur.
Zacharia Tetseo, DDLSA Panel Lawyer, in his keynote address, spoke on the importance and functions of free legal services. He mentioned how free legal aid is provided to the weaker sections and other disabilities of the society by not denying justice to any citizen. He further informed that members of ST/SC, victim of human trafficking, women and child, person having annual income of one lakhs and senior citizen whose income is below Rs 2 lakhs can avail free legal services.
Altogether 27 children participated and took part in the competition in which Ms Ferena Magh bagged the first position with certificate and cash price, while Ms Amenla Longkumer bagged second position and Ms Treila Phom bagged third position. They also received certificates and cash prizes.
The programme was chaired by Mrs Vimeno Kutsu, DDLSA panel lawyer, while the welcome address was delivered by Ms Limasungla, Sunday School Teacher, and the vote of thanks was said by Lahoto Aomi, pastor of United Baptist Church, Bamunpukhuri.
