Dimapur, Feb. 12 (EMN): Children of Hope Academy School in Dimapur visited the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) on February 12 “to expose the students to the unique majestic bovine, mithun,” an update that was received here on Wednesday stated.

The ICAR-NRC on Mithun at Medziphema has been striving to educate the people about the need to conserve mithuns as they play an integral part in the social, cultural and economic life of the mithun rearing farmers in the Northeast, the updates stated.

‘Over time, it has brought visitors from various spheres to witness the semi-intensive mithun-rearing system at its campus that could aid in mithun conservation and propagation.’

A total of 95 students from grade-6 accompanied by six teachers had an opportunity to interact with the officials and witness the semi-intensive mithun rearing system at the institute’s farm, the updates stated.
