DIMAPUR, AUGUST 28: Children’s Film Society of India and Directorate of School Education, Government of Nagaland along with Cinedarbaar have announced to organise two-day children film festival on August 29 and 30 at various schools in Dimapur.
The festival began on August 23 and showcased various films in Kohima and Wokha.
On August 29, films such as ‘Kima’s Lode –Beyond the Class’ directed by Zuala Chhangte (2015), ‘Nokpokliba’ by Meren Imchen (2005) and ‘Goopi Gawaiyaa Bagha Bajaiyaa’ by Shilpa Ranade (2013) would be screened.
On August 30, films such as ‘Krish, Trish & Batliboy’ directed by Munjal Shroff and Tilakraj Shetty (2009), ‘Nokpokliba’ by Meren Imchen (2005) and ‘Goopi Gawaiyaa Bagha Bajaiyaa’ by Shilpa Ranade (2013) would also be screened.
Nokpokliba is based on a Naga folk tale, which tells the story of Nokpokliba, a mystic, who saves his people from the treachery of an evil merchant by using his magical powers. Accordingly Goopi Gawaiyaa Bagha Bajaiyaa would showcase the story of Goopi and Bagha, a pair of musicians gifted with magical powers by the king of ghosts.
