The programme was initiated with a sole purpose of educating students and also to make them aware about child rights, the impact of bullying among students; and topics about sexual health education such as the concept of ‘good touch’ and ‘bad touch.’ Alomi Sumi, counsellor at Childline, taught the students the various aspects of child rights. Temsuyanger Walling, a team member, explained to the students the physical and psychological damage bullying can cause in the life of a young person. He urged students to not engage in such behaviour. Lozua Kape, centre coordinator, and team members Mariam Sumi and Akhale yimchunger spoke on topics of sexual health education covering the subjects of good touch and bad touch. Katoli shohe, according to members of Dimapur Childline, is a 60-year old woman who had been working with the organisation voluntarily for over a year. She also spoke about sexual health. The programme was based on class-wise interactions in all the three schools that the team visited. The session concluded with the message that if any child fall victim to any untoward situation, one may dial ‘1098’ for the Dimapur Childline. The helpline is a toll free number. Westside School at Kiyeto village, government middle school at Dhansisripar village and the government middle school at Kiyeto village are the three schools that the team from Dimapur Childline visited.
