DIMAPUR — Nagaland has received INR 622.01
crore from the Centre in the last three years under Mission Poshan 2.0.
This information was contained in a response provided by
Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Savitri Thakur, to an
unstarred question in the Lok Sabha submitted by Nagaland MP S Supongmeren
Jamir and his Bihar counterpart Raja Ram Singh.
As per the ministry figures, Uttar Pradesh received the
highest amount in this period: INR 7798.11 crore. Assam was second with INR
5204.84 crore.
They also sought for state-wise details of malnutrition
indicators for children aged 0 to 5.
Citing data from the Poshan Tracker for the month of October
this year, the minister informed that Nagaland has 28% stunted, 6.6%
underweight children in that age group.
Maharashtra has the highest number of stunted children (0-5)
at 47.7%, while Madhya Pradesh has the highest number of underweight children
at 26.5%.
