three-year-old child was hospitalised after being mauled by a neighbour’s dog
in Lower PWD colony in Kohima, severely injuring the face.
- The unfortunate incident happened on Saturday, leaving the
child suffering from severe laceration from the bite on the cheek, ear and
parts of the face.
- Sources informed that
the child was taken to the hospital, where the child received dozens of
stitches on the right side of the cheek and back of the right ear.
- The child is undergoing treatment, and the case is under
observation, it was informed.
- Following the incident, the chairman of the Lower PWD
Panchayat reminded all pet dog owners to keep their dogs in chains to prevent
unwanted incidents.
- “If any such incidents happen in the future, the dog owner
will be solely responsible,” it warned.
