Dimapur, June 18 (EMN): The Union minister for Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu has assured to send a technical team soon to ‘do all the necessary assessment for the final approval at the earliest’ with regard to the proposal for a Greenfield Airport at Chiethu in Kohima.
A press release from the public relations officer at Nagaland House in New Delhi on Monday informed that Prabhu had given the assurance during a meeting with Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in New Delhi.
“During the meeting they discussed various issues regarding the civil aviation and air connectivity in the state (Nagaland). The chief minister also appraised the Union minister on Greenfield Airport at Ciethu Kohima and requests him to look into the matters. The Union minister assured to the chief minister of Nagaland that the ministry will soon send technical team to do all the necessary assessment for the final approval at the earliest,” it informed.
Rio was accompanied by Temjen Toy, the chief secretary of Nagaland and Jyoti Kalash, the principal resident commissioner of Nagaland House in New Delhi.
