Chiephobozou sub-division conducts training on the Registration of Births and Deaths Act and online registration

DIMAPUR — A block-level training and sensitisation programme on the Registration of Births and Deaths Act and the Online Civil Registration System (CRS) for CRS registrars and anganwadi workers of Chiephobozou and Botsa blocks was held at DBs Court in Chiephobozou, Kohima on Thursday.
Briefing participants on the importance of birth and death certificates, Extra Assistant Commissioner of Chiephobozou, Viketoulie Metha, called upon the registrars to ensure that there is no delay in the registration process, according to a DIPR report.
David Khutso, Deputy Director of the Department of Economics and Statistics, highlighted key provisions of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act and demonstrated the operation of the Online Civil Registration System.
Economics and Statistics Officer Visi Yokha pointed out that birth registration serves as the sole legal proof of date and place of birth, while death registration records are essential for the settlement of inheritance, insurance claims, and related legal matters.
