DIMAPUR — A two-day special surgical camp for the poor and needy under the Chief Minister's Mobile Operation Theatre (CM-MOT) initiative, headed by MLA and Team Leader Dr. Tseilhouto Rhütso, is currently underway at the Community Health Centre, Medziphema town.
The camp, which began on Monday and will culminate on January 13, is being held to help patients who cannot afford the costs of minor and major surgeries, stated an update.
A short programme was organised by the district administration and headed by ADC Medziphema town, P James Swu, as chairperson.
Delivering a short speech, Thepfüselie Makritsu, president of NPF 5 Ghaspani 2 Assembly Constituency, thanked Zhaleo Rio, Advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, under whose efforts the CM-MOT team was brought to Medziphema town. Makritsu assured that party workers and officials will offer all necessary help to the team during their brief stay.
Dr. Rhütso spoke on the significance of the CM-MOT, which was launched on January 26, 2025, and aims to complete 25 locations before January 26, 2026.
He highlighted the conditions under which the CM-MOT initiative came into being, stating that Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio was directly responsible for sanctioning the order which brought the mobile hospital to patients at their doorsteps who could not reach hospitals due to lack of transportation.
He spoke on how villagers, due to lack of information and communication, could not avail medical services available under Ayushman Bharat and CMHIS; therefore, a decision was made to bring the hospital to such patients. He added that those who could not avail themselves of the services at Medziphema town till January 13 may come to Dhansiripar on Wednesday, January 14, to avail themselves of the same.
The team will be visiting 25 locations in honour of the 25 years that Neiphiu Rio has served the people of Nagaland as chief minister. The Community Health Centre, Medziphema town, is currently being led by SMO Dr. Meno Vüprü.
