Dimapur, Feb. 1: Chief minister TR Zeliang on Wednesday expressed deep anguish at the turn of events in Longleng and Dimapur since the night of January 31 ‘in the aftermath of the cabinet decision to go ahead with partial polls to the urban local bodies’.
“As a father myself, I understand the immense grief and sorrow the parents and family members of the deceased Khriesavizo and Bendangnungsang must be going through at this moment and I sincerely sympathise with them. It is most lamentable that two precious lives have been lost in such an unfortunate incident last night,” read a condolence message from Zeliang.
While expressing condolence to the bereaved family, he appealed ‘everyone to pray and make intercessions so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.’
