Dimapur, Nov. 06 (EMN): The Chief Minister TR Zeliang on Monday extended festive greetings to the Lothas on the occasion of Tokhu Emong, the post-harvest festival of the tribe.
"On this auspicious occasion, I take this opportunity to wish the Lotha Community a happy and blessed Tokhu Emong in the best of health and spirit," stated the press statement from the CMO.
He also added that Tokhu Emong is a festival of thanks-giving, sharing and reconciliation during which new ties are made and bonds of closer intimacy are formed.
"As we celebrate this festival with songs, dances, feast, fun and merry-making, let us continue to preserve and protect our rich heritage and traditions," the Chief Minister stated.
He also added that the Lotha community is one of the 'major and pre-dominant' Naga tribe renowned for their colourful dances and folk songs and as the community celebrates this premium festival, he wished the community peace and success.
