
Dimapur, March 23 (EMN): Kohima District Health Society (DHS), along with Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), conducted BIS drive at Chiechama village council hall on March 22.
Speaking at the programme, the district nodal officer and deputy chief medical officer, Dr. Khriesilie Sachü, has shared AB-PMJAY. He stated that the project was an initiative of the government of India aimed at providing financial protection to the poor and vulnerable families so that they could get access to safe and quality hospitalisation.
He also informed about the benefits of PMJAY, which provide free hospitalisation coverage upto INR 5 lakh per entitled household per year. He informed that the entitled beneficiaries would be able to access services in any empanelled hospitals, PHC, CHC, district hospitals and few private hospitals in Kohima district and also across states and union territories.
Emphasising on the importance of E-card, he informed that every individual should have E-card to avail the benefit.
The EAC of Chiephobozou, Vitoka Yepthomi, has encouraged the villagers to come forward and avail the service of the insurance scheme. He further urged the village councils for further cooperation and work for the benefits of the community in general.
