MLA Muthingnyuba Sangtam at the golden jubilee celebration of EAC, EAC Hq. on November 20[/caption]
Dimapur, Nov. 24 (EMN): The Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) administrative headquarters of Chare under Tuensang district celebrated its Golden Jubilee (1968-2018) at the office premises with Muthingnyuba Sangtam, MLA for 52 Longkhim-Chare AC as the speical guest on Nov. 20.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Muthingnyuba Sangtam congratulated the ADC Longkhim, EAC Chare and the public for making this celebration a grand success. He called upon the various departmental officers to dedicate and efficiently work together for ensuring transparency and development of the area and said that the departments must be committed in serving the community. The MLA further apprised the DBs and GBs to cooperate with the local administration so that law and order would be maintained in the area.
Earlier, the special guest unveiled the jubilee monolith and souvenir, and the BYE choir (Baptist Youth Endeavour) presented a song. Special cultural dances was presented by Trongar, Chare and Kiding village dancing troupes. A host of dignitaries from different civil society, HoDs of different departments, village council representatives, DBs, GBs, Church workers, tribal Hoho representatives, Student leaders, invitees and well wishers attended the grand celebration.
The Chare administrative post was set up in 1956 as an Area Bench Court. In 1960 it was upgraded to Area Superintendent. Finally, in 1968 it was upgraded to full-fledged Circle Officer. Thereafter, in 1975 the old Chare town was shifted and established in a present location.
