Changtongya Town Baptist Church commemorates the 50th anniversary of the 1976 revival movement.
DIMAPUR — Changtongya Town Baptist Church (VTBA) organised a special revival programme in Changtongya under Mokokchung district from September 11 to the 13th.
According to an update, it commemorated the 50th anniversary of the revival that began in Changtongya town in 1976 and noted that Changtongya Town Baptist Church was among the first churches where the revival started.
The commemorative programme was held on the theme from Psalms 85:6, "Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?" with Dr. Chujang Aier, President of the International Evangelistic Fellowship, serving as the main speaker throughout the programme. He was assisted by a team of counsellors from different churches.
During the programme, life testimonies were shared by believers recounting their spiritual experiences. Prominently, Asangla Luen, daughter of former CTBA pastor MI Luen, who was one of the pioneers of the Nagaland revival movement, testified about the movement. She also presented a memento memorialising the early revival days of the 1970s to the church.
A healing service was held on the final day following the devotional service, conducted by Sashi Kichu, Pastor of Mongsenyimti Compound Baptist Church.
