Dimapur, Oct. 21 (EMN): There is a change of guard in the Chakhesang Mothers’ Association’s (CMA) leadership. The organisation’s leaders held a ceremony on October 19 in Phek town.
Updates on Sunday said that the outgoing president, Zaposhelu Venuh, thanked the mothers for reposing their faith in her by electing her their president for two consecutive tenures. Highlighting some achievements of the CMA during the tenure, Venuh was appreciative that the association had now a plot of land in Phek town, which is ‘one of the CMA’s greatest achievements as a long desired wish of the association has been fulfilled.’
Venuh also expressed happiness that a new system in the organisation had been introduced which is presentation of an audited treasurer’s report; it reflects the transparency and accountability in the association. She added that a new outlook had begun and said to look forward to more innovative introductions.
The new president of the association, Zhonelu Tunyi is said to have expressed happiness at the mandate of the community’s womenfolk in her and her team. She assured to work for the welfare and interest of the community and with transparency and accountability. She has sought cooperation from the people, the updates on Sunday stated.
