Playing on a knockout basis, the first match saw Chandmari Higher Secondary School defeating Baptist High School via tie breaker after the match ended in a scoreless draw. In the penalty shootout, Chandmari Higher Secondary School edged out Baptist High School by 4-3 to enter into the next round. In the second match, a wonderful brace from Toshisungzung helped Mt. Sinai Higher Secondary School (MSHSS) to mark their entry into the tournament by beating Dainty Buds School 3-1. The match started in favour of Mt Sinai boys when Dougunlal Lhouvum opened the scoring in the 37th minute. But their celebration was cut short three minutes later as Kungau Lungalang scored the equaliser for Dainty buds. However, Toshisungzung has other plans up his sleeves as he converted a brilliant goal to double the lead for Mount Sinai team in the 43rd minute and later to follow up with his second goal in 56th minute to make sure Mount Sinai take the deserving lead. Dainty Buds School failed to seize the opportunity as the match ended in 3-1 in favour of the Mount Sinai. In the third match of the day, Government Higher Secondary School Jotsoma overpowered Stella Higher Secondary School with a stout 3-1 score line to enter into the next round. Goalkeeping errors for the Stella team and Jotsoma team’s superiority and experience in the soggy ground were the highlight of the match as the lacklustre Stella custodian handed three goals to the opponents. Despite their replacement of the goalkeeper in the second half, the team failed to score as they were knocked out of the tournament Rokoneilie Medoze, Keneilhulie and Zakiesieto were on target for Jotsoma HSS while Stella HSS earned a consolation to restore their pride through the boot of Chewen, their striker.
