Dimapur, November 27: The 9th edition of the Challenger Cup will be played on November 29, 2pm at local ground, Kohima.
The teams vying for the Challenger Cup will be between Classic Club and Kohima Press Club.
The annual feature football exhibition match started in 2006 will be in its 9th edition this year.
Bringing in more friendship and unity amongst the Classic Club and the media fraternity based in the state capital, the exhibition match is expected to generate much fun fare and excitement.
For the record, the Classic Club lifted the title for five times (2006, 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2015), while KPC won three times (2009, 2012 and 2013)
Highly placed sources said Classic Club is expected to be led Chotisu Sazo, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly and a life member of Classic Club as the captain, while KPC is yet to officially announce their team captain.The exhibition match is expected to witness some of the former footballers from both (Classic Club and Kohima Press Club) who donned the state jersey during their prime days.
The match is open to all the football spectators to watch it on free and live at the Kohima local ground.
