Chakhroma Students' Union’s 40th general conference concludes with new leadership

- DIMAPUR — The
valedictory programme of the Chakhroma Students' Union’s (CSU) 40th general
conference was held on Sunday at Tsiepama village in Kohima, where a new team
was also elected for the tenure 2025-2027.
- According to an update, speaking on the occasion, Advisor
for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Zhaleo Rio, highlighted the
importance of the mother tongue, stating that it defines one's identity. He
also added that the UGC has approved Tenyidie as a subject.
- He stressed the importance of having a broad mindset to live
in harmony with one another for the betterment of Naga society. He also
encouraged the students to set clear goals and strive to achieve them.
- A new team has been elected for the tenure of 2025–2027, to
be led by Menokhrielie Chalieu as president, Rokoselie Geisuo as general
secretary, Zhasakholie Kehie as tribunal general, and Kezhawhelie Richa and
Zapuvizo Khroitsu as members.
- Speeches during the programme were delivered by both the
outgoing president and the president-elect.
- Zhau Sanchu, associate pastor of Christian Revival Church,
Sovima, and principal of Hope Institute of Theology, stressed the importance of
being a firm believer and choosing the path of God.
- Ikato Khulu, president of the Western Sumi Students' Union
(WSSU), in his note, stressed the importance of a stronger bond between the CSU
and WSSU and pledged to work together hand in hand for a better future.
