DIMAPUR — The Chakhro Angami Kuda Youth Organisation (CAKYO) has condemned the alleged firing and abduction incident at Aoyimkum village, Dimapur, on December 15.
In a condemnation note, the youth organisation termed the “criminal intrusion” into a private residence by armed individuals, firing rounds, injuring civilians and abducting persons at gunpoint, as an appalling and inexcusable act.
It stated that such conduct stands in complete violation of the law, of basic humanity and of every principle that defines a civilised society.
“During this season of joy and peace, a time meant for love, reconciliation and hope; the use of weapons (even blank shots) to assert dominance is nothing less than criminal intimidation. These actions erode peace, undermine social harmony and violate the fundamental values of human dignity and the rule of law.

“The repeated occurrence of such crimes, coupled with the absence of visible accountability or conviction, raises grave concerns and urges the responsible authorities to take immediate action; lest the silence and inaction threaten to normalise fear and embolden criminality,” the CAKYO stated.
The organisation extended its “unwavering support to collective efforts against such anti-social elements” and the Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO).
“Let our shared values guide us; courage rooted in morality, freedom anchored in responsibility and peace protected by justice,” it added.
