Dimapur, Sep. 3 (EMN): Chakhesang and Sumi organisations in Dimapur have informed to have helped settle a case of what was stated to be an assault that reportedly took place on March 3. The Western Chakhesang Hoho and Western Sumi Hoho issued a press release on Sunday offering updates. The press release was appended by Vekhosayi Nyekha, president of the Western Chakhesang Hoho, and Vikato K Achumi, general secretary of the Western Sumi Hoho. The case was stated to be ‘in connection to the Mr. Pothita Vamuzo assault’s case, March 3 incident,’ the press release stated. The two organisations informed that they had ‘initiated a settlement.’ On September 1, the two called for a ‘sitting’ at the Western Chakhesang Hoho hall with both the parties where said Pothita gave a brief statement that led to the assault upon him by one Hokuto Zhimomi on March 3, the press release stated. ‘Mr. Hokuto admitted that he had committed a physical assault on Mr Pothita. He also admitted that he had used demeaning words upon former chief minister the late Vamuzo for which he sincerely apologized and expressed his highest respect for the departed leader,’ the press release stated. The Western Sumi Hoho “seek to forgive for the assault committed upon” Pothita Vamuzo by one of their members and to reconcile in the spirit of brotherhood and friendship, the press release stated. “The two hohos consented with both the parties and came to an amicable end. Henceforth, all the FIR / case and resentments in relating to this issue shall be withdrawn with immediate effect. Representative of Yoruba Village Council and the convenor of Western Sumi Hoho judiciary board spoke on (sic) the meeting,” the update stated further.
