Chakhesang Students’ Union seeks governor’s intervention on Kohima-Jessami road

CSU reminded that it had submitted a representation to Nitin Gadkari, union minister of MoRTH, on February 27, 2025, by highlighting concerns regarding delays, lack of proper machinery and sub-standard workmanship affecting the project.

  • DIMAPUR — The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has sought the intervention of Nagaland Governor, La. Ganesan, for timely completion of Kohima to Jessami road (package-2) under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) with proper machinery and quality workmanship.

  • In a letter to the governor, CSU reminded that it had submitted a representation to Nitin Gadkari, union minister of MoRTH, on February 27, 2025, by highlighting concerns regarding delays, lack of proper machinery and sub-standard workmanship affecting the project.

  • It mentioned that vital road infrastructure holds immense significance for the people of the region, ensuring better connectivity, economic growth and overall development. It, however, pointed out that the ongoing delay and the reported quality issues have cause immense hardship to commuters and residents alike.

  • Given the urgency of the matter, CSU has requested the governor to take up the issue with Nitin Gadkari.

  • The union has demanded to complete the project within stipulated timeframe without further delay by directing the concerned authorities to provide adequate equipment to facilitate smooth and efficient construction. It also demanded strict monitoring of the project to uphold the highest standard of construction quality and safety.

  • It expressed hope that his intervention would greatly help in addressing those grievances and ensuring completion of the project in a manner beneficial to the people of Nagaland.
