Three-day 79th general conference of the Chakhesang Students’ Union concludes in Phek district

ZUKETSA — The three-day 79th general conference of the Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) held at Zuketsa local ground in Phek district concluded on Thursday evening.
The conference was hosted by the Zuketsa Students’ Union (ZSU).
During the valedictory session, a new team of CSU for the tenure 2026–28 was declared by the nomination committee. The team will be headed by Povozo Soho as president; Lindi Nienu as vice president; Rhile Chiero as general secretary; Kekhroche Koza as assistant general secretary; Surhulu Zholia as treasurer; Ruvekho Lüpo-o as education secretary; Khove Dzüdo as social & culture secretary; Razunu D Vadeo as games & sports secretary; and Aveto Resu as media secretary.
The Assembly executives include Wedo Khalo as speaker, deputy speaker Vesuta Kezo, and assembly secretary Dr. Riweu Kenye.

Zhothisa Dawhuo, Secretary of Women Resource Development, Government of Nagaland, who attended as the valedictory guest, exhorted the students that hard work is the key to success and that there is no shortcut.
He added that hard work is the foundation for skills and enterprise in any given field.
He also stressed the importance of discipline and challenged the students to realise their purpose for the future.
Dawhuo further challenged the CSU to continue grooming and encouraging competitive examination aspirants with the help of the Chakhesang Gazetted Officers Association, so as to inspire and motivate young aspirants by sharing their knowledge and experiences.
The valedictory function featured greetings delivered by Rongley Leyri, president of the Pochury Students’ Union (PSU), and speeches by outgoing CSU president Pfhulo Sara and newly elected president Povozo Soho.
The programme was led by Vekhoto Tetseo, member of central organising committee, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Medovi Rhi, co-convenor, COC.
Earlier in the afternoon, a seminar on entrepreneurship and competitive examinations was also held, with Neichute Doulo, CEO, Entrepreneurs Associates, and Vekhohu Puro, EAC, Peren Headquarters, as resource persons. Vipanyi Krome, former finance secretary of CSU, moderated the session.
At the end of the conference, the Phek Students’ Union (PSU) was adjudged the best disciplined unit.
