Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): Scholars from Chakhesang community have decided to form an organisation under the banner of Chakhesang Scholars’ Forum (CSF). The forum was formally launched and also inducted its office bearers on April 29 during a programme held at Pfütsero Government College in Phek district.
An update stated that the forum was formed under the convenorship of Dr. Zavise Rume, professor of State Council of Education and Research Training (SCERT). Dr. Rume informed that the forum was launched with the primary objective to provide a common platform and promote healthy interactions on academic issues and promote academic excellence. He informed that the forum envisaged sharing intellectual resources, creating a resourceful academic body, providing authentic information and acting as a think-tank of the society.
“As scholars, it is time to give our relevance to the society,” Dr. Rume pointed out.
Former vice principal of Pfütsero Government College and advisor of CSF, Medozü Mero, stated that the forum was necessitated to secure many good things for the community. He expressed hope that better things would come in future through the forum saying that success of every venture has a small beginning.
The forum would be headed by Dr. Zavise Rume as chairman, assistant professor of Tenyidie at NU Dr. Khrüvolü Keyho as vice chairman, assistant professor of Pfutsero Government College Tavezo as general secretary, assistant professor of Tenyidie at Pfutsero Government College Nuveta Kausoh as secretary (academic), assistant professor of English at Capital College, Kohima, Dr. Rukulu Puroh as secretary (journal publication), assistant professor of History at Pfutsero Government College Wepekhro Wetsah as secretary (finance), Tenyidie PG teacher of Government High School at Razeba Arele Sakhamo as secretary (statistics), Reyivolu Rhakho as press secretary, assistant professor of Economics at Pfutsero Government College Asu Chuzho as treasurer along with 18 other executive members.
It stated that a panel discussion on relevance of academic subjects was organised in the second session. It added that assistant professor of Tenyidie from Nagaland University Dr. Khrüvolü Keyho spoke on the relevance of Tenyidie as an academic subject of study. Meanwhile, Dr. Khrolsoloü Teno, associate professor at Baptist Theological College, Pfütsero, spoke on theology and its relevance to society.
Rev. Dr. Kuzhopoyo Tunyi, pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council Mission Church, Pfütsero, prayed for the newly inducted office bearers.
