
DIMAPUR — The Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) and the Western Chakhesang Students’ Union (WCSU), with support from the Western Chakhesang Hoho (WCH) and the Western Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (WCMA), organised a reception ceremony for Yoto Chizo at Dimapur Airport on Tuesday.
The event was held to recognise his remarkable achievement at the East Asia Muaythai Championship, where he won the bronze medal in the 71 kg category at the competition in Hong Kong, stated an update.
The speakers at the occasion were Pretso Therie, vice president of WCH, who spoke on behalf of the Western Chakhesang Hoho; Wekupe Therie, president of the Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO); and Neiviletuo Shijoh, finance secretary of the Western Chakhesang Students Union (WCSU).
The speakers emphasised the significance of individual sports in motivating athletes and inspiring the youth. They also called for increased support from the state government for individual sports, which offer greater opportunities for participation at national and international levels.
Yoto Chizo, son of Razuchiyi Chizo of Khutsokhuno village, Phek district, expressed his gratitude for the support he has received from the Western Chakhesang Hoho, WCYO, WCSU, and WCMA on the occasion.
