Nagaland is all set to witness a CFSI FILM BONANZA, a children’s film festival, which is being presented by Children’s Film Society, India and Directorate of School Education, Govt. of Nagaland along with Cinedarbaar. This extensive festival will cover the major cities of Nagaland including Kohima, Wokha and Dimapur during the last week of August.
CFSI’s Film Bonanza will showcase films like Kima’s Lode –Beyond the class directed by Zuala Chhangte (2015), Nokpokliba by Meren Imchen (2005), Goopi Gawaiyaa Bagha Bajaiyaa by Shilpa Ranade (2013) and Krish, Trish & Batliboy directed by Munjal Shroff and Tilakraj Shetty (2009) offering a wholesome entertainment to the children from North-East.
Dr. Shravan Kumar, CEO, CFSI said, “We have been very active in bringing high-quality children’s entertainment to the North-East by way of exposing them to CFSI films for the last few years. We have seen many creative personnel from the North-East, being involved in various film making projects. CFSI Film Bonanza is one of the significant initiatives that CFSI has undertaken over the years to bring the North-East closer to the mainstream India. We will continue similar initiatives as we go ahead into the future.”
CFSI had earlier this year, presented the second leg of 19th International Children’s Film Festival in Gangtok, Sikkim. This festival also covered West Sikkim wherein it travelled through four districts viz. Geyzing, Yokosm, Bermoik Martam and Tharpuss in Sikkim. More than a thousand students only from Sikkim attended this festival and enjoyed film screenings, workshops, quiz, discussions and much more during the event.
CFSI had last year, organised the 19th Golden Elephant, ICFFI at Hyderabad jointly with Telangana Government showcased a gamut of feature films, short films, documentaries, animated films of various genres. A bouquet of around 300 films out of 1204 entries received from 80 countries, spanning seven days beginning Nov 14, were screened across 13 venues in the city.
CFSI has been making films for Indian market since its inception and this would be a collective effort to reach market internationally and make much better cinema which would be entertaining as well as educative.
CFSI was setup in 1955 and since then it has produced over 250 films for children including feature films, short films, animations, television episodes and documentaries.
