Chief Electoral Officer, Kohima, Sanjay Kumar, informed that the Election Department has decided to visit all districts of Nagaland this year starting with Phek district on May 2 and 3 as part of its strategy to sensitize the district election machineries and the public functionaries at the grassroots level in connection with the ongoing National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP) programme 2016 and also the Systematic Voters’ Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign.
Four officers of the department and three representatives of The Naga Blog (partnering agency) would comprise the entourage and hold three meetings in the sub-divisions and one in the headquarters.
In this regards, CEO has requested all administrative officers; Heads of Offices; all BLOs; all supervisors of BLOs; campus ambassadors and nodal officers; official-in-charge of VRECs; heads of colleges/ higher secondary schools; village council chairmen/ panchayat chairmen and two representatives of students’ union/ youth organisation of the village/ town to attend the meetings in respective sub-divisions.
