Dimapur, Jan. 13: The establishment of the Chief Electoral Officer bid farewell to Chief Electoral Officer of Nagaland, Sanjay Kumar, on January 13 in a function held at their office premise in Kohima.
Kumar will be leaving the department to take up a new assignment in the Ministry of Human Resources as Joint Secretary for Education, Delhi.
During his address, the outgoing chief electoral officer said that most of his active years were spent in Nagaland. He said to always cherish the memories of the beautiful people of Nagaland which he called his home. Also, he expressed gratitude to the officers and staffers for their ‘support, love and understanding’ during his tenure. Kumar has encouraged them to have team spirit in taking the department to greater heights. Speaking on behalf of the CEO’s office, Joint CEO, N Moa Aier, said that many things have been done in the department with one of the greatest examples being the successful conduct of the National Electoral Roll purification (NERP). The outgoing CEO had also visited various districts during his tenure, Aier added.
