Dimapur, July 28 (EMN): Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Abhijit Sinha has assured sufficient central armed forces for the smooth conduct of the by-election to the 10 Northern Angami-1 Assembly Constituency.
Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Abhijit Sinha, made this assurance at the press conference on election matters at Chief Electoral Office, Kohima, on July 27.
Briefing on the by-election to be held at Kohima on July 29 at 10 Northern Angami-1 A/C, Chief Electoral Officer said that the Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer has already classified the polling stations to ensure that everything will go on smoothly.
He said that VVPAT Machine was used during last assembly election in Noksen successfully and this time will be the second time of using VVPAT Machine in 10 Northern Angami -1 by- election.
Abhijit Sinha stated that sufficient central armed forces will be deputed in every polling station to ensure peaceful conduct of election and in every polling station. He also said that exit polls are prohibited till the polling is over. He stated that canvassing in all forms including in the print and electronic media will be prohibited 48 hours prior to the polling which come into effect from 4 PM today.
Chief Electoral Officer further mentioned that in the 10 Northern Angami-1 A/C 16235 voters will be exercising their franchise on July 29. He also informed the general public to dial their Control Room No. 1950 for any complaint or grievances.
