DIMAPUR — Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio held a detailed meeting with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu on November 18 to discuss aviation connectivity and strengthen the state’s airport infrastructure.

In a post on X, Rio wrote: “We had a fruitful discussion on strengthening the aviation sector and advancing growth. Confident that the meeting will lead to meaningful progress.”

Naidu also posted on the same platform, stating that the meeting with Rio focused on finding practical solutions to the topographical and logistical challenges that have long hindered aviation expansion in the state.

“Nagaland, with its rich natural beauty and vibrant culture, stands to benefit greatly from enhanced direct flight connectivity to major Indian cities.

“Our discussions also focused on the strong air cargo potential of the state, especially for its high-quality perishable fruits and fishery products,” he wrote.
