- DIMAPUR — As part
of his visit to the state, Union Minister of State for Petroleum & Natural
Gas & Tourism, Suresh Gopi, had an interaction with district administration
officials and various heads of the department at Police House, Chumoukedima, on
Friday.
- According to a DIPR update, Suresh informed that under the
leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre is committed to the
development of the Northeast in general and Nagaland in particular.
- He appealed to the officials to scrutinise the budget and
keep track to ensure ‘full benefit’ to every individual in the state as a
citizen of India. He urged them to have a plan and make full use of it and
assured them of full support for any proposal or project they bring forth.
- “After the meeting, the union minister visited Naga Heirloom
Centre at Sovima, where he was impressed with the artisans at work, which was
one of the most elated experiences he had in Nagaland,” it stated.
- Thereafter, the minister visited the Chief Minister Neiphiu
Rio at his private residence, it added.
- After the meeting, Rio wrote in a post on X, “A pleasure to
meet and interact with Shri Suresh Gopi Ji, @TheSureshGopi, Hon'ble Union MoS
for Tourism and Petroleum and Natural Gas. We had a fruitful discussion on
matters related to the progress and prosperity of the state. Grateful for his
support and guidance.”
