Dimapur, Oct. 3 (EMN): Union minister of women and child development, Maneka Gandhi as assured in principle to sanction one master plan project at the state Kohima. She also advised the state government to send one comprehensive Detailed Project Report (DPR) for child adoption centre, destitute children, old age home, molestation or rape victim centre for consideration.
Gandhi made this assurance to the state advisor of social welfare, home guards and civil defence, Noke Wangnao, and other department officials when the latter called on her on October 3 in New Delhi.
A press release issued by Kuolie Mere, PRO (IPR), Nagaland House, New Delhi, stated that the advisor had apprised the union minister for central assistance on infrastructure development for child adoption centres, destitute children rehabilitation centre, old age home etc in the state.
While the union minister assured to sanction one master plan project for the state capital, she also advised the state government to send one comprehensive DPR for child adoption centre, destitute children, old age home, molestation or rape victim centre for consideration.
The advisor along with his officers also called on the union minister of social justice and empowerment, Thaawarchand Gehlot, at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi, to discuss on departmental activities and ongoing project in the state. During the meeting, the advisor requested the union minister for more central assistance under his ministry.
The release further stated that the minister had agreed to look into the matters shared by the advisor and provide more central assistance for the state. The union minister also informed of his visit to the state likely in the month February 2019.
