Nagaland received INR 2.72 crore from the Ministry of Home Affairs to boost cyber forensics under the Nirbhaya scheme over the past three years.

KOHIMA — Nagaland has received assistance of INR 2.725 crore for cyber forensics under the Nirbhaya-funded scheme for strengthening DNA analysis and cyber forensic capacities in state forensic science laboratories (FSLs) over the past three years.
The Ministry of Home Affairs informed that the funds were released for both DNA and cyber forensic divisions during the financial years 2022–23 to 2024–25.
It added that the total assistance provided to the state under the scheme since 2018–19 stands at INR 5.45 crore.
Meanwhile, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), in its latest Crime in India 2023 report, recorded a total of 14 cybercrime cases in Nagaland during 2021–2023.
The highest number of cases was reported in 2021 (eight), followed by four cases in 2022 and two in 2023. Most of the cybercrimes involved communication devices as the medium or target.
