Central Training Institute celebrates 63rd raising day in Dimapur, highlighting its role in disaster response and civil protection.

DIMAPUR — The Central Training Institute (CTI) of the Home Guards, Civil Defence and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) celebrated the 63rd Raising Day on Saturday at the CTI Ground.
Aotemsu, commandant general, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, Nagaland, delivered the raising day address, praising the dedication and professionalism of CTI personnel and highlighting the institute’s key role in strengthening disaster preparedness, emergency response and civil defence in the state.
He described the raising day as a moment of reflection on the noble legacy of the Home Guards, a tribute to the spirit of volunteerism and sacrifice, and a reminder of the organisation’s enduring responsibility to remain ever ready in the service of the people.

He also recalled the legacy of the Home Guards, raised in 1946 on a concept that originated in England during the Second World War, highlighting their historic role in restoring communication, evacuating the wounded and carrying out rescue operations.
He described the raising day as a moment of reflection on the noble legacy of the Home Guards, a tribute to the spirit of volunteerism and sacrifice, and a reminder of the organisation’s enduring responsibility to remain ever ready in the service of the people. He also recalled the legacy of the Home Guards, raised in 1946 on a concept that originated in England during the Second World War, highlighting their historic role in restoring communication, evacuating the wounded and carrying out rescue operations.
Special presentations included a pipe band display, a song by the ministerial staff, a weapons handling demonstration by trained personnel, and a cultural performance by the havildars.
A group photo session followed, along with friendly sporting events such as volleyball and football penalty kicks involving NGOs, havildars, the Band Platoon, the Quarter Guard, ministerial staff and Jawans.
