Dimapur, Nov. 27 (EMN): The Inter Ministerial Team led by joint secretary (A) of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Ramesh Kumar Ganta arrived in Dimapur on November 27 to assess damages caused by the recent floods that affected several families in the state.
An update from DPRO Dimapur informed that the team visited Thahekhu block 7 and Naharbari colony in Dimapur and interacted with the village council members and some affected families to get first hand information. The team lauded the efforts of the village council and NGOs during the disaster.
DC Dimapur Anoop Kinchi and other administrative officers, OSD NSDMA, Johnny Rongmei, members of DDMA Dimapur and officials from line departments accompanied the central team during the disaster site visits in Dimapur. The team will leave for Mokokchung by road on Thursday before proceeding to Wokha on November 29 and then to Kohima on the same day, informed the update.
The team comprising Deena Bath, consultant (FCD) department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance; Narendra Kumar, director department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare, DJD, Kolkota; SS Modi, deputy secretary from Ministry of Rural Development; and Abishek Agarwal, assistant executive engineer, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Regional office Guwahati, will “have debriefing” with the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and the line departments on November 30.
