
Dimapur, Dec. 16 (EMN): To review the district’s Covid-19 activities and to support the district in public health measures and clinical management of Covid-19, a central team for Covid-19 visited Dimapur district on December 13.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Dimapur, stated that the team had a meeting with the Dimapur district task force on Covid-19 led by Rajesh Soundararajan, deputy commissioner of Dimapur. It stated that the DC had highlighted the issues related to Dimapur as it is the gateway of the state as well as to neighbouring state of Manipur.
The DC also highlighted how the district handled Covid-19 with support from the sub-divisional level committees for Covid-19 and faith-based organisations and communities.
Besides, Dr. Imtiwabong, district surveillance officer, and Dr. Keveduyi, medical superintendent of District Hospital Dimapur, presented the district Covid-19 activities and Covid Hospital activities respectively since January till date.
It stated that the team visited District Hospital Dimapur and Covid Care Centre at Chümoukedima after the meeting. The team included Dr. SR Karmakar, senior public health specialist from All India Institute of Hygiene and Public Health, Kolkata, and Dr. Mohd. Jamil, associate professor of Medicine from NEIGRHIMS in Shillong.
The meeting was chaired by Dr. Nyan, IDSP state nodal officer. Others who attended the meeting included deputy CMO Dr. Antoly Suu, pathologist Dr. Temsu, Dr. Toska, Dr. Bano, Dr. Benchilo, Dr. Rebecca, Dr. Longri, Dr. Ron, Dr. Narola and IDSP Dimapur staff.
