Central Post Disaster Needs Assessment team visits Mon district to assess monsoon damage and post-disaster needs.

DIMAPUR — A Central Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) team from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) visited Mon district on October 6 to assist line departments in compiling and assessing damages caused by the Monsoon 2026.
During a meeting held at the DV’s conference hall, Mon, Deputy Commissioner Wennyei Konyak welcomed the team and highlighted the damage caused by the monsoon in the district, an official bulletin stated.
Representatives of various line departments briefed the team on the damages incurred in their respective sectors and submitted reports for assessment.
The central team comprised Mickey Mecon Dalbehera, Scientist E, CBRI Roorkee; Rohit Kumar, Assistant Professor, NIDM; Indranil Bose, Senior Consultant (Infrastructure Sector); Shashank Mishra, Lead Consultant, NDMA; Dr Gagandeep Singh, Assistant Professor, NIDM; C.P. Mohan, Senior Consultant (Productive Sector); Chandani PC Senan, Senior Consultant, NDMA; and L Jonhibemo Odyuo, Assistant Manager (Relief, Recovery and Mitigation), NSDMA.
The team encouraged the concerned departments to document and report all actual damages to facilitate a comprehensive assessment of post-disaster needs.
