The Central Nagaland Tribes Council has urged the NSSB to reschedule its recruitment examination, citing a clash with the Sümi community’s Ahuna festival
DIMAPUR — The scheduling of Combined Staff Recruitment Examination (CSRE) on the day of Ahuna, the Sümi community’s major post-harvest festival, has prompted the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) to call for a change of date, two days after the Sumi Kukami Hoho issued a similar appeal.
On Thursday, the council appealed to the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB) to reschedule the upcoming CSRE, stating that the clash places aspirants in a difficult position.
The CNTC described Ahuna as an important traditional occasion and said its significance should be considered when scheduling competitive examinations.

While acknowledging the board’s responsibility to conduct recruitment tests on time, the council said administrative planning should take account of major festivals observed by Nagaland’s tribes.
It urged the NSSB and the state government to move the examination to an alternative date and adopt a scheduling policy that avoids clashes with major traditional festivals in the future.
