Rev. Thungjanshio dedicating the newly constructed centenary
staff quarter of Phiro Baptist Church on Sunday.
- DIMAPUR — To mark
the upcoming 100 anniversary celebration of Phiro Baptist Church in Wokha
district, a staff quarter constructed by daughters of Phiro village residing in
Dimapur, Kohima and Wokha, who are married to other villages, was dedicated on
Sunday.
- Phiro Village Baptist Church is set to celebration 100 years
during January 2026.
- The idea for construction of a staff quarter to commemorate
the upcoming centenary jubilee was conceptualised in 2019. It was after
deliberation with Phiro Baptist Church pastor and board of deacons, the married
daughters of Phiro village residing in Dimapur, Kohima and Wokha districts
decided to construct a centenary memorial staff quarter, stated a DIPR report.
- The construction works, which commenced during March 2024,
was completed during November 2024.
- The fully furnished staff quarter consisting of 2 bedrooms
with washrooms attached, a sitting room and a kitchen was dedicated by Rev.
Thungjanshio, pastor of Phiro Baptist Church in the presence of Phiro Baptist
Church officials and daughters of Phiro village from Dimapur, Kohima and Wokha
along with their spouse and children.
