
Dimapur, Mar. 1 (EMN): A two-day training for district and charge census officers of Dimapur and Tuensang districts was conducted on February 28 and the 29th in the conference hall of their respective deputy commissioners’ office.
In Dimapur, the training was conducted by six resource persons from the directorate of Census headed by its director Tridibesh Roy.
Census director Tridibesh Roy presented an introduction of the Census 2021 and National Population Register (NPR) and overall glimpse of the census operation, an update from the deputy commissioner, Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi stated on Saturday.
Resource persons from the directorate of Census Operation including master trainer Surajit Dey, Census nodal officer of Mon district NK Roy Chowdhury, and Census nodal officer of Dimapur district Kumar Satyam made powerpoint presentation on various topics on census.
DC Dimapur Anoop Khinchi, in his keynote address, acknowledged the team for their effort.
Deputy commissioner and principal census officer, Dimapur; additional deputy commissioner and district census officer; and all administrative officers who are charge officers for their respective jurisdictions attended the training.
The training in Tuensang was conducted by assistant directors M Peseyie and Rameshwar and SI Grade-I officers Viyovol Chaya and Chualo Kath as the resource persons.
Topics during the training included ‘Introduction and processes of census and NPR,’ ‘Legal provision and roles and responsibilities of census functionaries,’ ‘HLO schedules: Concept and definition with gender sensitisation, preparation of layout map (rural and urban),’ ‘House listing and housing census schedules,’ ‘Mobile App for HLO,’ ‘Preparation of village/ town and charge register,’ ‘Formation of and carving of HLBs and segregation NPR records.’
