Dimapur, Dec. 1 (EMN): The Chumoukedima Chamber of Trade and Commerce Association (CCTCA) has asked its members not to entertain any kind of donation to any individual or group during the festive season.
The CCTCA president, Avi Chase and general secretary, James Kin, through a press release, also appreciated the EAC of Chumukedima town for constructing good drainage and footpath along the 2nd gate area.
However, the association said that some shopkeepers were vending their goods on the footpath causing inconveniences to the pedestrians; therefore, it requested those shopkeepers to stop such practices.
The association also informed that during the year 2017-2018 Swacch Survekshan survey, the Chumoukedima town was ranked 6th in cleanliness among the towns in Nagaland and 2018-2019 the survey team will visit during Dec. 15 to Jan. 15, 2019.
The association requested all the citizens of Chumoukedima town not to just decorate or light up their houses, but to keep their homes and surroundings clean . It stated that the three best 3 decorated shops will be given prizes. The association also stated that all the shops shall compulsorily keep two dustbins --one green-coloured for collecting wet wastes and a blue-coloured bin for collecting dry wastes -- in front of their shops. The bins will be provided at half the market price ‘under the kind effort of the present administrator of Chumoukedima’.
