DIMAPUR — The Centre Chakhesang Public Organisation (CCPO) has appealed to village councils, GBs, VDBs, youth and student union leaders, women societies, and public leaders of the Centre Chakhesang area to welcome James PK Sangma, National Working President of the National People's Party (NPP), on February 7.
Sangma, who is also the vice-president of the Council of State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation of India, chairman of the Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), and president of the Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA), will visit prior to his scheduled programme at Pfutsero.
According to the CCPO, they have received official confirmation from reliable sources that he has expressed his desire to visit the monolith at Porba village. The monolith was erected in commemoration of the 53rd general conference of the Chakhesang Students Union and the golden jubilee celebration of the Porbami Students Union in 2000 and was unveiled by PA Sangma.
‘To make this visit truly meaningful and to ensure our guest received the most authentic and profound understanding of this place. We appeal to our centre Chakhesang public leaders to accompany him,’ the CCPO stated in a release.
