Dimapur, Dec.13: Chumukedima Chambers of Commerce and Trade Association (CCCTA) have demanded immediate release of the detained ACAUT members, unconditionally.
CCCTA expressed shock and questioned how those ACAUT members could be booked under “illegal tresspass” when they went inside those two godowns with the consent of the caretaker (Mintu Tiwari) of the said two godowns. It also stated that police were informed and the personnel too on witnessing the illegal activities sealed the two godowns, therefore, CCCTA questioned how could criminal trespassing, be assumed or accepted.Extending full support to ACAUT for the entire noble job done for the poor, CCCTA also questioned will the public remain silent, even after all the facts were unearthed or revealed. Further, CCCTA requested the public of Chumukedima area to extend full support “in the fight against corruption, struggle to defend our right, in our movement to restore black is black and white is white”.
Meanwhile, Peace Channel, a youth movement for peace expressed shock, and condemned the arrest of anti corruption activists. The peace Channel desk in a release, said for peace to prevail justice must be delivered to all irrespective of positions and status in the society. The movement has appealed to the state government for unconditional release of the ACAUT members and give justice to the people who were deprived of justice. While condemning the act of injustice meted out on the three members of ACAUT, Peace Channel urged the government to give to “Caesar what belongs to Caesar and give to God what belongs to God”.
