CBCC affirms commitment in church ministries

[caption id="attachment_229411" align="aligncenter" width="565"] A choir presenting a song at the 68th general council meeting of the Chakhesang Baptist Churches Association at Thenyizu Baptist Church in Phek district.[/caption]   Dimapur, Jan. 22 (EMN): Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) has resolved to be more dedicated and equipped in liberating the people from all kinds of sinful bondages and also uphold the sanctity of Sunday by appealing all believers not to engage in any secular activities/ programmes on Sundays. The resolutions to this effect were taken during its 68th general council meeting held at Thenyizu Baptist Church from January 18-20 on the theme “The truth will set you free” (John 8:32). In order to address issues and challenges of certain heresies and false prophecies in the church, the council resolved to urge and  admonish all believers not to be swayed by such things but be guided by the Scriptures and remain firmly rooted in the Word of God and live out the truth of the gospel in their daily lives. Besides, in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha election, the council resolved to reaffirm its commitment to ensure clean election in the state as per the directives of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) and the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement. A press release issued by Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, CBCC executive secretary, stated that the meeting was addressed by prominent church leaders including Rev. P Bonny Resu, Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo and Rev. Dr. Dingu Kenye. He added that altogether 519 official delegates representing 100 churches and one fellowship under CBCC churches attended the meeting. The release also stated that the 68th general council was marked by change of guard in the council with Rev. Khrotso Mero, senior pastor CBCK, taking the charge of executive secretary from Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo who completed 10 years of service in the council. The general council was enthralled with inspiring messages in songs from Chetheba Baptist Church, Chesezu Baptist Church, Baptist Theological College,   and the host choir Thenyizu Baptist Church. During the meeting, Chakhesang Bethel Baptist Church, Chumukedima, was also officially recognised as full –fledged church under CBCC. The 69th CBCC general council would be held in 2020 to be hosted by Leshemi Baptist Church.
