- DIMAPUR — The
Catholic Association of Nagaland (CAN) and the laity Catholic faithful of the
Diocese of Kohima mourned the passing of Pope Francis on April 21.
- In a message issued by CAN, it was stated that Pope Francis
was a beacon of hope, compassion, and love for the 21st century. Through his
work and care for the world today, he touched many lives profoundly.
- It was stated that the love Pope Francis radiated to the
world will continue to serve as an anchor of healing for humanity in times of
despair.

- As a mark of respect and honour for his soul, CAN urged all
the faithful members of the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Kohima to offer
prayers for the eternal repose of his soul and for the College of Cardinals as
they undertake their responsibility of electing Pope Francis' successor on the
day of his funeral.
