Dimapur, April 29 (EMN): Members of the Mary Help of Christians Cathedral in Kohima came together to conduct a candlelight service in memory of the victims of the recent Sri Lanka bomb blasts on Easter. The service was conducted on April 28 at the Cathedral in Kohima, updates from the organisers informed on Monday.
Parish priest Rev. Fr. Carolus Neisalhou said in his message to the believers to pray for the injured, and the souls of the dead, and ‘especially for the misguided people.’
"Though terrorist activities are condemned, we do not condemn nor judge the terrorists because God is the ultimate judge,’ the reverend stated.
"We pray for peace and mercy. Today, it is Sri Lanka, tomorrow it could be anywhere because terror knows no boundary."
According to the press release, April 28 was also observed as 'divine mercy Sunday' in Catholic churches.
‘It was very proper that the congregation pray for God's mercy upon the world,’ the press note stated.
The prayer service was led by the Novitiate Sisters. The members of the church lit a candle each for the Sri Lanka bomb blast victims, the updates informed.
