Mokokchung, Sep. 6 (EMN): The 10th district level, catch them young tournament was held at Imkongmeren sports complex under the aegis of district youth resource and sports department where several young athletes were selected to represent the district at the upcoming inter-district catch them young tournament.
Acknowledging all the young competitors, District Sports Officer (DSO), K. Libemo Jami encouraged all the participants to continue to give equal importance to their co-curricular activities along with their studies. Delving into the history of the tournament, he said that the concept of ‘Catch them young’ tournament was adapted from the system followed in Germany where they select talented youngsters and develop their inborn skills to become professionals. Likewise, he added that Naga youngsters should need to use this tournament as a good platform to enhance their God given talents if they are serious about taking their talents to the next level towards professionalism.
Later, a prize distribution ceremony was held where Jami handed out commendation certificates to the winners.
